Problem

Users often do not know whether a bar, club, or restaurant is worth visiting until they are already there or hear about it from someone inside. The project aimed to reduce that uncertainty by giving people a way to discover which places were trending and what the live experience looked like before deciding where to go.

Approach

I contributed mainly on the frontend side of the Android app, implementing user-facing views and helping turn product ideas into usable mobile screens. My work focused on interface behavior, feature presentation, and building parts of the experience that made discovery and interaction feel intuitive.

Outcomes

  • Created a stronger product concept around real-time venue discovery and social recommendations.
  • Gained hands-on experience in Android app development and frontend implementation.
  • Built early momentum that later inspired further exploration into mobile app creation.

Contributions

  • Developed frontend components for the Android application.
  • Worked on views such as the user profile and home screen experience.
  • Collaborated on translating product ideas into mobile interactions and interface flows.
  • Supported the user experience direction of the app with a focus on clarity and engagement.

Lessons learned

  • A project can start small and still grow into something much more ambitious when the team believes in the idea.
  • Early product work taught me a lot about user experience, especially how interface decisions shape trust, engagement, and usability.
  • This project helped open the door for me to keep exploring app development beyond the classroom.
